Unless there is a change of heart before the end of the season, John Terry will be leaving Chelsea when the campaign comes to a close.

The Chelsea skipper’s contract is due to expire in the next few months, and, despite laying out his intention to carry on playing, the Blues have not offered the legend a contract.

John Terry recently played his historic 700th game for the Blues.

He is the first player in four decades to have achieved that milestone at Stamford Bridge. Ron Harris leads the appearance standings with 795 games, while Peter Bonetti is second with 729 matches. Then it’s John Terry.

Over the past week Terry, who marked his 700th game in the FA Cup defeat away at Everton, has been reflecting on his achievement on social media.
