Manchester City ready to make €55m January bid for Schalke starlet Leroy Sané

Manchester City are ready to delve into the January transfer market in a big way.

They are ready to launch an astronomical 55m Euro bid for Schalke starlet Leroy Sané. Such a fee would make him not only the most expensive German teenager ever, but the most expensive German player period, according to Bild.

Sane exploded onto the worldwide consciousness with a wonder strike against Real Madrid in last season’s Champions League, and since then has established himself in the starting XI of the Ruhr club.

Having made his full international debut, Sane is now on the radar of Europe’s top clubs.

But why City want him is unclear – they just bought Raheem Sterling (a similar attacking midfielder) for 50 odd million pounds last summer.
